Antique German bisque head doll dating to the late 19th century (circa 1885–1905). Features a matte bisque shoulder head with original glass sleep eyes, painted facial details, porcelain forearms and hands, and an original tight kid-leather body. Doll is dressed in a period cotton dress with lace trim.
Construction includes a leather torso and upper limbs with porcelain forearms and hands. Lower legs terminate in original leather ends designed for sewn shoes or stockings; no porcelain feet were present on this body style.
Condition consistent with age. Leather body remains tight and intact with surface wear from age. Wig is missing. Clothing shows wear and age staining. No visible cracks or chips noted to the bisque head.
